I have recently had the unexpected opportunity to retire from the 'real world' of work and pursue my lifelong ambition to create art. I am an internationally published poet as well. My fascination with texture, odd color mixings and diverse mediums keeps me constantly evolving. I love doing portraits in off beat mediums such as clay and handmade paper. I enjoy taking recycled items and giving them new purpose in art.
I am an active member in numerous art communities such as ZNE, Creative Souls and Design Style Guide Team.
I work with acrylics, water colors, pencils, handmade paper, clay, fabric, needle felted roving, and a wide spectrum of ephemera. I love doing commissioned work and strive for 110% customer satisfaction. I have recently begun doing assemblage and sculpture work utilizing recycled items. If interested in a custom piece, please contact me. Some examples of my other works are posted to my blog regularly at www.minervasmadnes.blogspot.com.
My latest new to me technique has been working in encaustic. It is a glorious medium with the texture that I adore in art. I will be posting new works as they are completed. Unless otherwise noted, all my originals are for sale.
Being able to share my work with people is an incredible dream come true. Thank you for taking the time to view my art. Peace....
